Accordion shutters need the wheels lubricated and the all the locks oiled.

Rolldown shutters require the hood to be removed for cleaning, removing
wasp nests, squirrel and bird debris etc. lubrication and greasing of the track,
and Bearings, test the limits on the motor roll of the shutter up & the shutter down.

Bahamas and Colonials Lubricate hinges and locking pins.

Garage doors Lubricate hinges, wheels and the spring & test the limits on the motors

All moving hurricane protection products need to be exercised regularly
they also need to be washed and brushed with mild soap and water and then rinsed.

If you are in a salt environment.... service is a must at least once a Year.      

Your shutters have to work in times of need not when it's too late, be prepared.
